Goodfish Cannock’s 5S Training: Revolutionising the Work Place for Optimal Results
Over the last couple of weeks, the team at Goodfish Cannock have been working towards completing their 5S training. The training is a process of teaching employees how to implement the 5S methodology in their work environment. As a leading plastic injection moulding company, we understand the importance of staying ahead in a competitive industry, and 5S training has been and will be a game-changer for us.
What is 5S training?
- Sort: The first step is all about decluttering and organising. We took a hard look at our workspace and identified items that were essential and those that were unnecessary. By eliminating the unnecessary, we created a more streamlined and efficient environment.
- Set in Order: This step involves arranging items in a logical and systematic manner. Everything now has a designated place, making it easier for team members to find tools, equipment, and materials when they need them. No more wasted time searching for misplaced items!
- Shine: Cleanliness is key! The team have started to implement a thorough cleaning routine to ensure our workspaces are sparkling. Regular cleaning not only enhances the overall appearance but also contributes to a safer and healthier work environment.
- Standardise: Consistency is the name of the game. We established clear and standardised procedures for various tasks and processes. This ensures that everyone follows the same protocols, reducing errors and promoting efficiency.
- Sustain: The final “S” is all about maintenance. The team understandd that 5S is not a one-time thing; it’s a continuous effort. They are going to foster a culture of responsibility, where each team member takes ownership of their workspace and actively participates in maintaining the 5S principles.
With the completion of our 5S training, the Goodfish Cannock team is primed for a future of improved productivity, efficiency, and success. We look forward to seeing the team using the 5S methodology on a day to day basis.
