Composites
A composite material is made up of at least two materials that work together to provide properties that are superior to the individual constituents. The primary reason composite materials are used for components is to save weight while maintaining relative stiffness and strength. Carbon-fibre reinforced composite, for example, can be five times stronger than 1020 grade steel while weighing one-fifth the weight.
Since 2018, Goodfish has been involved in composite manufacturing. Composite products are made using an array of manufacturing techniques, wet layup, prepreg, vacuum infusion, resin transfer moulding plus many more. At Goodfish our chosen techniques are wet layup and prepreg.
